Amazfit Neo – The Smart Band With The Retro Touch

In the last month, the Huami listed its Amazfit Neo on the Chinese e-commerce giant AliExpress for the pre-order. And a few days later, the Neo launched in India and is ready for the sale. It can be ordered from Flipkart at the price of just INR 2,499.

Amazfit Neo is not your typical smartwatch or smart fitness band. You don’t get a colored and edge-to-edge display but what you get is a no-nonsense smartwatch that gives you the limited information you need to know. It features a retro design with CASIO vibes all over it.

Amazfit Neo – Features

The Amazfit Neo comes with a PPG bio-tracking optical sensor for 24×7 heart rate monitoring. It also measures total sleep, light sleep, deep sleep, and rapid eye movement (REM). The Amazfit Neo also integrates the PAI assessment system. It uses a special algorithm to assess overall health by looking at data such as heart rate, active time, and other indicators.

Heavily inspired by classic digital watches of old with some modern touches, the Neo sports a 1.2-inch monochrome LCD display housed in a chunky plastic body. The always-on screen should allow for easy reading in direct sunlight but also sports a backlight for reading in dimmer environments. Inside the display, there is a circle division on the top left corner which shows the current mode. There are four buttons on the device — select, back, up, and down. There is no touch input, something you see on almost every smartwatch out there.

These details likely add to its long battery life. Huami claims typical users will see around four weeks between charges from the 160mAh battery. The new Amazfit can last up to 28 days in a single charge on regular use and up to 37 days on power-saving mode. The Strap Colors available in the market are Classic Black, Grass Grey Green, and Coral Orange. It is compatible with both Android and iOS. It is a unisex watch that has a rectangle dial shape just like any other smart band available in the market.
